"How did you even capture that?"

One of the best compliments I hear from parents is:

“Wow, you really captured her personality.”

“I can’t wait to frame these.”

And that’s exactly what I want for every family who steps in front of my camera.

What many parents don’t realize is that you don’t need to prep your little ones by telling them to smile, stand still, or say cheese. In fact, I’d prefer you didn’t! My sessions aren’t about stiff poses they’re about capturing your family as you are. I give gentle direction and guidance, but I encourage movement, play, and connection. I want your kids to laugh, twirl, chase each other, or even get a little muddy because those are the real moments you’ll remember. You'll remember how it felt.

During sessions, I spend time getting to know your children. I chat with them, ask questions, and bring in little pieces of their world. If your little one loves airplanes, I’ll bring one along and watch their eyes light up as they play. Those sparks of joy are what I live to capture. This is also why I don’t put strict time limits on my full sessions — I want to give kids space to explore, warm up, and truly be themselves.

To help families feel relaxed, I offer a carefully curated client closet filled with timeless, earthy styles. For moms, I have open-size gowns (fitting XS–XL, maternity and non-maternity) that flow beautifully and photograph like heirlooms. For children, my closet includes pieces that match my editing palette — muted neutrals with textures like linen, cotton, and corduroy. These colors and fabrics keep your photos cohesive and timeless.

When styling families, I always recommend starting with mom’s outfit first. Once mom feels comfortable and beautiful, the rest falls into place. From there, we coordinate with soft, muted neutrals and layered textures. I usually recommend steering away from polyester and chiffon, as they don’t photograph as naturally as the organic textures do.

At the end of the day, my sessions are about more than photos

They’re about creating space for connection, laughter, and play.

You don’t need to force smiles. Just show up, be yourselves, and let me capture the magic that unfolds.
